The Tiki - Hei-Tiki is a carved human figure. It symbolises the first born, the first man, from the creation myth in which Tane creates Tiki the first man. The Tiki is also commonly thought of as a general good luck charm.
Dale Borland was formed in 1972 by Peter Dale McDermott and Brian Borland. The business name came from combining Peter’s middle name with Brian’s last name. Dale Borland was purchased by John Harrison 1993 and turned into a small family owned and operated business. John manages the company along with his wife and son. The small size of this producer of New Zealand jewellery and souvenir products has allowed Dale Borland to offer a range of unique and distinctive products.
