"It's difficult to imagine a more serene backdrop for Lake Tekapo's iconic Church Of The Good Shepherd than the majestic southern alps, set alight by this fiery display. After 3 clear days & frosty mornings, a cloud front was moving eastward, so I gambled this might make a good recipe for a colourful dawn. Just when I didn't think the colour was going to develop, the sky began to glow these bright oranges & pinks, wow! And on this rare occasion, my only company was a pair of ducks on the lake - not a single vehicle in the normally crowded car park. Fantastic!"
