‘Mount Victoria’’ - Limited Edition Fine Art Print
This image is simply the right side of Sarah’s “Wellington Boatsheds image’. The artist loves how the terraced houses are piled on top of each other so has offered this as a print on its own. A colourful captivating artwork showcasing Wellington City at its best. Full of detail and charm.
Mount Victoria is an inner-city suburb of Wellington, New Zealand, with a rich history and heritage. It was first settled in the early 1840s by New Zealand Company colonists and named in honour of their young queen, Victoria. The suburb nestles on the idyllic slopes of Mount Victoria, also known as ‘Matairangi’. Historic homes in Mount Victoria have a variety of architectural styles, from Victorian to Art Deco, adding to the unique beauty of the area.
The iconic ‘blue’ boatsheds are located in Clyde Quay Boat Harbour, Oriental Bay, Wellington City Centre. There are three groups of boatsheds which have a strong historic association with both the development of the harbour itself and boating in Wellington city. The boatsheds were constructed between 1905 - 1922 by The Wellington Harbour Board.
The original artwork was completed using quality watercolours, acrylic, ink and pencil on watercolour paper. This fine art print is Archival Quality.
