Collection: Glen Turner

Glen is a self-taught Christchurch-based artist who creates from The Lobe, a central city collective space. His practice is grounded in breathing new life into recycled and sustainable materials, with a particular focus on the beauty and diversity of locally sourced Canterbury timbers.

Each artwork celebrates the natural hues, depth, and textures of wood species while carrying with it a unique history. Many of the materials Glen works with are salvaged from post-earthquake demolitions, home renovations, and other creative projects. By carefully selecting and combining these timbers, he transforms them into captivating pieces that are both evocative and sustainable.

Working without drawings, sketches, or predetermined plans, Glen follows an intuitive, organic process. This approach allows each artwork to evolve naturally and honour the story embedded within the wood itself.
