Collection: Agathe Jewellery

Agathe handcrafts each piece of jewellery in her home studio in sunny Nelson, New Zealand.

Her jewellery is inspired by the organic aesthetic of New Zealand landscapes. By using different materials like sterling silver, brass and copper, she reflects the natural colours of the sandy beaches, low grasslands and native forests of the country.

Her abstract way of showing the connection to nature by using circular forms also aims to represent the cycle of life and changes of the seasons deeply felt in New Zealand.

We could qualify her unique jewellery style as rustic and delicate yet modern for every day use.

Agathe's passion for jewellery started at the early age of twelve in France. She used anything that was around, mostly recycled materials, stain glass from the shore, wood, beads, or even electric cables to handcraft jewellery that she exhibited and sold in art markets across France.

In her early 20's, she started travelling and living in different countries around the world, including Chile, Argentina, Reunion Island and the USA, where she kept expanding her knowledge and experience of and passion for handcrafted jewellery.

Agathe moved to New Zealand in 2019, where she studied jewellery at the Dunedin School of Art. There she learned the traditional techniques of silversmithing that she now uses in her work.
