My stripe ceramics are hand thrown & hand painted speckled stoneware, gloss glazed inside & fully functional. Speckles are flecks of iron in the clay that pronounce once the piece fires at acer 900 degrees celsius.
They’re my aesthetic & visual language imbued in ceramics - you’ll see the cohesive connection between these vessels & my hoops for example. Also sharp clean lines, emphasis in colour harmony and simple bold silhouettes are all characteristic of my paintings and prints. I am primarily driven by an interest in investigating the basic interaction between line and colour via materiality and/or process. A visceral response is often my end point.
