A heart-shaped pounamu, or Manawa (Māori for heart/breath), is a treasured New Zealand greenstone carving symbolising aroha (love, compassion), emotional strength, and deep connection. Worn close to the chest, it serves as a personal, lasting reminder of affection, whānau (family), and the life force within, often gifted to represent deep bonds, healing, and remembrance
Dale Borland was formed in 1972 by Peter Dale McDermott and Brian Borland. The business name came from combining Peter’s middle name with Brian’s last name. Dale Borland was purchased by John Harrison 1993 and turned into a small family owned and operated business. John manages the company along with his wife and son. The small size of this producer of New Zealand jewellery and souvenir products has allowed Dale Borland to offer a range of unique and distinctive products.
