These large RA paintings are celebrations of our most influential celestial orb.

Fierce and burning, warm and glowing. It is life giving, we wouldn’t be here without it. We hide from it and we worship it.

These paintings were conceived in a wet and dreary winter where I yearned for the warming sun.

The world has many names for the sun,
RA locates our sun here in Aotearoa.

RA are painted on wet, aged canvas. Painting on wet canvas causes the water to carry the paint in random ways, then the painting is dried in the sun.
