Wooden Alaia Surfboard
Original Artwork by Purist Surfboards
1800mm long x 410 mm wide with a subtle taper through to the tail of the board.
Traditional wooden Alaia, shaped from radiata and incorperating 100 year old rimu stringers and totara tail block. Geometric acrylic design with an epoxy and glass finish to both seal and highlight the timber. Ready for surfing if you wanted to experience a uniquely traditional ride. An alaia is a thin wooden, round-nosed surfboard ridden in the pacific pre-20th century. They are distinct from modern surfboards in that they have no fins and instead rely on the sharpness of the edges to hold the board in the face of the wave.
