Anthony operates Flame Daisy, a full time glassblowing, neon and lamp working studio based in Nelson, New Zealand.
Anthony enjoyed his first painful experiments with glass as a young man stripping paint of a house with a gas burner. Curiosity compelled him to melt some broken glass he found in the garden, and that, coupled with a childhood fascination to “one day make light bulbs” led to a self directed adventure into working with neon. An epiphany watching Robbie Reddy blowing glass on the coast drew Anthony like a moth to the flame. A brief stint at Wanganui Polytechnic learning basic blowing skills gave life to the drive to become a self-taught glassblower. Berinthia has worked artistically from childhood, graduating from Otago School of Art as a Photography Major, but sculpture and painting were first loves. All learning in glass has been self taught.
